Hydroflask Expander

The Story:

I am a big fan of the Hydroflask water bottle that amazingly keeps water (with ice) cold for 24+ hours. I have the 32 oz Hydroflask, and the base is too wide to fit into a standard car cupholder. There is an existing product that expands the standard car cupholder to fit a Hydroflask, but considering it's $15-$20, I wanted to see if I could design and print one for less. Below is the final product, including a "logo" I made for my version of the product.

There were a few considerations I made while designing the holder in SOLIDWORKS. One was that the bottom should slope up a little so that it can accommodate a wider range of car cupholder sizes. Secondly, I made the Hydroflask opening big enough to accommodate the rubber "boot" that many have on the bottom of the Hydroflask. Lastly, I added a slight outward curve at the top so that the Hydroflask can slip into the holder without poking around too much.

I uploaded my CAD model to Thingiverse where it can be downloaded here.
