Menorah Cookie Cutter

The Story:

This was my first self-designed print. The first few items I 3D printed on my Ender 3 were all downloaded from Thingiverse. On Chanukah we found that while our Dreidel cookie cutter was fine, our Menorah Cookie cutter created a shape that was too delicate, and the cookies would break easily. I decided to tackle my first CAD design project, and considering I didn't have the license to SOLIDWORKS yet, I turned to the free version of SketchUp. It was an incredibly satisfying experience to go from nothing to CAD model, to sliced model, to printed version, to edible cookie, all within a 5 hour time span. I'll never forget the feeling when I was washing the new cookie cutter after its first use, and my mind being blown how just a few hours earlier this dirty sticky thing in my hands did not exist. It was a great introduction to the power of CAD and 3D printing.

I uploaded my CAD model to Thingiverse where it can be downloaded here.
