Kiddush Cup
The Story:
My son had to bring in a Shabbos related item to school for show and tell, and he enjoyed watching the 3D printer run, so we decided to print a Kiddush cup for him. This was in my pre-SOLIDWORKS days, so I found a model for a goblet on Thingiverse, and remade the bottom so that it could sit flat without the stem. I wanted to skip the stem so that it would look more like my own Kiddush cup (which he was familiar with), and it also helped speed up the print a bit. I engraved my son's name in Hebrew on one side, and "L'kovod Shabbos" on the other side. I particularly loved how shiny the gold PLA came out in this print.
